"As a single parent of two children going to school full time, I wouldn't be able to come to school and afford for childcare," says Michelle Trinidad, a student at Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC) and parent to a 4 and 5-year-old. "Thank goodness for BMCC Early Childhood Center that is very much affordable. It gives me the opportunity to advance my career and be confident that my son is in good hands. School is hard enough on its own, having reliable child care means a lot to me and my children."
To figure out how big of a baby diaper bag you'll need, put some thought into how many things you'll want to be carrying around. It's not just for baby diapers and baby essentials (dont' forget nipple cream, lotions, baby sunscreen, and maybe even one of the smaller best breast pumps), but the baby bag will also be responsible for holding the contents of your purse unless you plan on carrying both the baby bag and your purse around all day (which we don't suggest!). So that means you'll want to make sure the baby diaper bag is big enough to hold all of the baby essentials along with things like your wallet, keys, lip balm, tissues, makeup, sunglasses, and anything else you carry around in your purse on a daily basis. Otherwise it's not really about finding the right diaper bags for moms, it becomes more about shoving in all the baby stuff and leaving mom's things behind! https://i.pinimg.com/originals/a8/73/e8/a873e8e6ff6ee4401158b8777cdbbfd2.jpg
This tote caught my eye on the website with the three separate compartments and extra pockets for organizing, but I really had no idea how much I would love this bag until I took it with me a few times to church and running errands around town.  I can hold EVERYTHING I need in this one bag with room to spare!  My Suite Success Tote was packed to the brim today and I dumped everything out and took a picture to show you how much you can put inside this bag.  I am even missing an outfit (the baby’s change of clothes got used today, and our snacks got eaten before the picture so add that stuff in your mind too.)

At the top of the bag, a discreet zippered pocket securely holds your smartphone and keys. Another, much larger zippered pocket that runs across the front of the bag can fit a book or e-reader, large wallet, and other miscellaneous items. Inside the main zippered compartment are two elastic pockets for diapers and wipes, along with two narrow, tiny pockets that could hold pens and pencils for you or an older child (but not much more). https://i.pinimg.com/236x/60/bb/2d/60bb2d02ca34c06a3e9e3ed1b712c6d1---gifts-thirty-one-gifts.jpg
The Carter’s City Tote was the largest tote we tried, and it was the one we used one afternoon when we needed to pack extra clothing for three kids instead of just one. Our chief quibble: The six pockets inside the main compartment are confusing. Labeled “bottles” on one side and “my stuff” on the other, the interior pockets were not wide enough to fit our wipes and diapers, which meant they got dumped in the main compartment with everything else. In addition, though the Carter’s City Tote was the most lightweight bag we tried (8 ounces), the downside of a large tote like this one is that if you fill it to capacity there is more risk of overfilling the bag so that it becomes especially heavy to carry on your shoulder. With unpadded straps, that’s uncomfortable. https://i.pinimg.com/280x280_RS/f6/f9/cf/f6f9cf6fbd27922fd2cdb7883cf66704.jpg
My kids are no longer babies nor am I expecting, but my plans were to use this bag as an everyday bag/purse. The bag is large, but not overdoing it. The style and shape are honestly perfect and does not reflect the appearance of a standard diaper bag - which is why I believe it makes it so much more appealing. You have a lot of pockets and organization space, a HUGE plus whether you're a mom or just a busy woman always on the go. The outside of the bag has 5 large pouch pockets and 1 cell phone pouch, which is a signature design of Thirty-One bags. The way it is styled, you have 2 pouches on one part of the bag, one pouch on each side (perfect for drinks, bottles, etc), and then a large snap pouch on the back of the bag. Above that is where cell phone pouch is located. So a lot of places for when you have to "grab and drop" things in the bag and don't have time to actually put them away. https://i.pinimg.com/236x/71/d8/67/71d8677a583a7d515e8b54e42f125e8b.jpg

The DadGear Backpack used to be one of our also-great picks but it was discontinued. We liked the bag’s large size and clever storage (like a chamber dedicated to dispensing wipes.) The DadGear’s flaps zipped open all the way—more like a suitcase than a typical handbag—making dumping out crumbs and cleaning easier. If you somehow manage to get your hands on one we still think it makes a great purchase. https://i.pinimg.com/236x/7d/28/b0/7d28b0ee85cb3ac8bc7457dd036a192f--summer-prints--bags.jpg
Also, pick a bag that will last you both in durability and style. If the bag only looks good with certain outfits, you'll find yourself frustrated or wanting to buy multiple bags. A black or red bag, or one with relatively neutral colors/patterns can work with nearly any outfit. Of course, some of the really stylish baby diaper bags can also get really expensive; so maybe dig into some of those gift cards you might have hanging around from your baby registry, or put your favorite on a new baby registry (see our best baby registries here) if you haven't had your baby yet! Finally, it's worth considering a diaper bag that is water resistant, to protect the bag's contents from damage during rain or accidentally being set on a wet surface. The Halova Diaper Bag Multifunction Waterproof Travel Backpack is a great example.
To find you the most stylish and functional diaper bag of 2019, we put 27 diaper bags to the test! We stuffed them with baby products, tossed them on the ground, tried out the insulated baby bottle pockets, spilled milk in them, forced the zipper open and shut, and put a 25-pound weight inside to make sure the fabric and straps were durable and comfortable. We found about a dozen great diaper bags, most of which come in several different colors and patterns - so don't judge only by the picture we provide! Here are the top 5 diaper bags we found, followed by in-depth reviews of about a dozen different options.
2) I'm letting go of guilt because...the right bottle will prevent any discomfort. It took us a bit of trial and error to find the right bottle that worked for my baby, but once we did, we rarely dealt with gas or discomfort―and the convenience of being able to pack along a meal for my child meant she never had to wait to eat when she was hungry. Dr. Brown's became my partner in this process, offering a wide variety of bottles and nipples designed to mimic the flow of my own milk and reduce colic and excess spitting up. When we found the right one, it changed everything.
After applying our criteria, we ended up with a list of a dozen bags to test. As soon as the bags arrived, we examined the overall design, features, and pocket structure carefully. Then my husband and I spent six weeks carrying the bags daily in everyday life, using each bag for at least two days and the best ones for far longer than that (I’m a 5-foot-3 woman; my husband is 5-foot-10). We were consistent in how we packed each one. We kept it to the basics: a few diapers, a travel pack of wipes, a change of clothing for our 18-month old son, an insulated lunch bag with snacks (usually crackers, Cheerios, granola bars, and oranges), a 16.9-ounce disposable water bottle, sunscreen, toys (usually a toy car or two), tissue, hand sanitizer, a smartphone, wallet, and keys.
Another thing that sets it apart is a high-end look and feel as well as some additional features that are nice but not essential—there’s a set of luggage-style feet that keep the bag up off a dirty surface (a feature no other pick has). There’s a unique velvet pocket that protects your sunglasses, a keyring so you can find your keys in a snap, and two open insulated pockets that are nice for bottles (but honestly they were not amazing insulators). Plus, with details such as gold metal hardware, we thought the B.F.F. looked the most fashion-forward out of our top picks. The construction feels really robust, although you do see some occasional complaints of things breaking that really shouldn’t. https://i.pinimg.com/236x/fc/72/65/fc72654e676fb28086366513b0ad4169.jpg
No matter which style you choose, you should think about how you'll be able to put it onto one of our best strollers: down in the stroller's basket, or would you like to hang it on the stroller's handlebars? If the latter, you should go ahead and buy a diaper bag that includes stroller straps, like several of our top-rated bags. We suspect you'll use that feature a lot. Of course, always use caution when hanging the diaper bag on the handlebars of your stroller: when you take your baby out, the stroller will flip over backwards (unless the bag is super light)! So definitely make sure that the stroller you choose has a nice large basket to fit your diaper bag. https://i.pinimg.com/originals/00/e9/19/00e9198bc8a4b2f8fa99e60ad20ae0ee.jpg

From the moment we opened the box, we fell in love with this top-rated Skip Hop diaper bag! It perfectly demonstrates the intersection between style and functionality. For moms with style, it uses a classy New York style colors and black stripe pattern, with light brown leather accents. We loved the look of this tote diaper bag style. But we were even more impressed by the functionality. This baby diaper bag gets things done. It is big, well-made, and has a ton of pockets (11 to be exact). For pockets, let's start on the outside: it has insulated side pockets that were big enough to fit even the widest baby bottles and keep stored at a nicely controlled temperature. Above those on the sides are some small pockets that were very easily accessible and perfect spot for keeping pacifiers. On the front, it has zippered pockets, which we thought were great for mom's personal stuff: car keys, a small wallet, or cell phone. The inside is vast and well-lined for durability and easy cleaning. It has a huge center space, which is perfect for diapers, wipes, changing pads (it comes with a great one!), and toys. A clever divider is put in between the outside handles and the main inside space, which provides even more storage space. These were great for more upright things that you want to slide up & out quickly like diaper cream, sunscreen, and lotion. Overall, we absolutely loved this bag, and it performed very well in our testing for durability, and we think it is very deserving of this spot on our diaper bag list! Cons? A bit pricey, usually around $75. Highly recommended! Interested? Check out the SkipHop Grand Central diaper bag here. https://i.pinimg.com/originals/98/6b/f1/986bf108a175c137603c8e8046acfa3e.png

I absolutely love Thirty-One Gifts! My consultant Jessica (from Sacramento, CA) is an amazing consultant and goes above and beyond to make her customers feel like family! I travel a lot and I am able to take my Away We Go Roller, ZipTop Utility Tote (with deluxe swap it pocket) and my Organizing Shoulder Bag for a 3-4 day trip and carry everything on the plane. I can't believe how organized I can be when traveling. I wish that the Away We Go roller was in the catalog to order as I receive so many compliments on it. My husband loves his Well Suited Garment Tote and it keeps his suit from wrinkling and fits perfectly on my Away We Go Roller for flying. Please keep up the amazing work and I look forward to doing more shopping and hosting a party with the upcoming fall catalog!!! https://i.pinimg.com/236x/e3/a1/0d/e3a10def3f34c4d28d8d6818cbb3bd09--avon-representative-avon-online.jpg
The Ah Goo Grab-and-Go Compact Diaper Bag is a sleek, compact bag with a flip-front messenger style and a roomy single-pocket interior for baby’s essential items. The front pouch is perfectly sized to hold a small tablet, and the velcro-enclosed side pocket fits your phone. The rest of the room is for baby, with a roomy inner pocket lined in antimicrobial material that’s a snap to wash. It can be worn as a wristlet or you can attach it to your stroller for an easy, breezy day on the town without being weighed down.

We’re not the first to give the Skip Hop Duo high marks: Baby Bargains selected it as the best diaper bag of 2017, BabyList called it one of its best picks of 2017, and Meg Collins of Lucie’s List named it among her favorites. It is among the most popular diaper bags on Amazon, averaging just over 4.5 stars (out of five) across more than 1,000 reviews as of summer 2017. Although few would mistake it for some of the $200-and-up diaper bag options out there, its style is sophisticated for what it is. One Wirecutter staffer seeing it for the first time said it looked most similar to our upgrade pick, “with fewer bells and whistles”—a strong endorsement considering she didn’t yet know that this cost about a third of the price of the other bag. https://i.pinimg.com/236x/c1/87/5c/c1875c823089bf9d4bdab528e52ffd3d--initials-infographics.jpg

Does anyone else plan on using or have used a thirty one bag as their diaper bag? If so which one and how has it worked out for you? I absolutely love the idea of being able to personalize my diaper bag with the name and colors! But I'm not sure exactly what size I'll need to buy or which would be a better bag. I have a few ideas in mind though, i'm deciding between the utility tote, cindy tote or the retro metro bag. they're all too adorable and so many ways to personalize which is the best part about them! Such a tough decision, so many options Also what is the most important thing you're looking for in a diaper bag?
When the time came to ditch the diaper bag, I jumped for joy. I never liked toting around a huge bag, but was still surprised that even though I now have a five-year-old, we still cart around a lot of stuff! Now that we are involved in school and sports, it turns out I still need a decent bag that’s both functional and stylish. Just as we signed up for the upcoming summer swim team (that requires tons of swim accessories!), one of my favorite companies released a baby line- Baby by Thirty One! https://i.pinimg.com/236x/46/6b/f7/466bf7ecb298b345300fd7bab13173e1--guatemalan-textiles-boho-bags.jpg
It has plenty of interior and exterior pockets to organize all our stuff (even for all 3 kids). It has shoulder straps and a removable cross-body strap, it has clips to attach it so a stroller, it zips closed (and has a couple zippered outside pockets), it’s big enough but not TOO big, and it’s super cute! In fact, most people don’t even realize it’s a diaper bag until they see the sippy cups popping out! https://i.pinimg.com/474x/fa/78/be/fa78be79ecce07ef51aabadc1f7d28f8--thirty-one-gifts-in-style.jpg
The Skip Hop Duo Signature won’t be roomy enough for everybody. It’s big enough for everyday use if you have a single child in diapers, but could feel too cramped if you have more than one young child, are using cloth diapers (which take up more room), plan to travel frequently, or want to carry personal belongings such as a laptop in your diaper bag. When I used the Skip Hop as my carry-on during a several-hour flight, adding my laptop and some basic toiletries to its usual contents, I could barely zip the main compartment. If you’re seeking more space, consider our backpack pick. https://i.pinimg.com/236x/46/79/1b/46791b73be720c90465a59e35a364e4b.jpg

From casual cinch sacks to smartly-designed wallets and bags, 31 Gifts (or T.O.G. as their consultants like to refer to it) has you covered wherever your day may take you. Savings-savvy office workers love the insulated totes, lunch sacks and zipper pouches that keep cold food and drinks fresh for break time, enabling them to save money by prepping their own lunches at home. Moms swear by the company’s oversized totes, stacked with plentiful pockets for diaper change necessities, coupons, favorite toys and more. Fashionistas dig the bright, colorful makeup bags and change purses, infused with both functionality and style to keep them on the cutting edge. With such a wide variety of bags, it’s very easy for a consultant to match party attendees to a product that works well for their lifestyle.
One is a laptop bag that I liked and decided to turn into a diaper bag. It's about the same width and height, but it's only about 4" deep. It could use a few more pockets since it only has the one... the laptop compartment - I use it for diapers, wipes and changing pad. Everything else is in a jumbled heap in the main compartment. Eh, it works. Slightly annoying, but it works.
