The Duo, which has been sold since 2003, has been a longtime best-seller from a company that makes almost two dozen different diaper bags. Just about every retailer we visited—chains, boutiques, and consignment stores, plus online retailers—carried this bag. Parents can pick from a dozen neutral or bold, graphic prints, and on some colors the interior is made of a light-colored fabric so that you can easily see what’s inside (not all diaper bags have gotten the memo on this). https://i.pinimg.com/345x/b1/35/2b/b1352be753690db8975118406ed03a2d.jpg
Seemingly the most common complaint about this bag is that the main zippered compartment is deep, narrow, and simply not big enough. On the plus side, the narrow compartment means that the Skip Hop Duo Signature isn’t too bulky, as many other diaper bags bags we tested were. But it also means that you may end up stacking your stuff in the main compartment, and not having much room for extras.
Personally, I’m the mom of three; my youngest is 18 months old (as of publication) and still in diapers. I’ve changed my three kids’ diapers on the dirty floor of a hole-in-the-wall restaurant, on airplanes, at Target, and in too many other public places. My journalism background includes stints at the San Francisco Chronicle and other major newspapers, and I have reported on family and parenting for publications such as Family Circle, Working Mother, and Salon.
Convertible diaper bags are designed to be carried in multiple ways, and Ju-Ju-Be’s B.F.F. bag is definitely versatile—it can be carried by its top handle, or worn as a messenger bag or backpack. The straps are made of cushy memory foam and are designed to not slip off your shoulder (something that’s extra annoying when you have a baby in your arms!). https://i.pinimg.com/originals/98/06/fc/9806fc3efe5355fde2e12624c2b3c2ce.jpg
The Skip Hop Duo Signature showed no wear and tear as a toddler did his best to get it dirty, including dragging it across the beach and dumping sand inside it. You can flip the bag over to dump out dirt and crumbs, and we were able to successfully scrub off dried milk and crushed Cheerios from the bag’s wipeable polyester interior. The Skip Hop Duo’s deep, narrow main compartment is a bit challenging to reach into to clean compared with those of other diaper bags, but the material is slippery enough that we could still clean it easily enough. Only one other bag, our upgrade pick, was easier to clean.
One is a laptop bag that I liked and decided to turn into a diaper bag. It's about the same width and height, but it's only about 4" deep. It could use a few more pockets since it only has the one... the laptop compartment - I use it for diapers, wipes and changing pad. Everything else is in a jumbled heap in the main compartment. Eh, it works. Slightly annoying, but it works. https://i.pinimg.com/236x/53/b6/fc/53b6fc7f4ce1f45fbeaa266d3c580a54--brian-atwood-mary-kay.jpg
The solid colors of the Take Two Diaper Bag also make it a cinch to personalize – just choose your favorite thread color and font! Here’s a personalization tip: Your last name or initial work just as well as baby’s name on your diaper bag! The neutral colors also make it the perfect canvas for Icon-Its, or choose a new Floral Letter or Blackboard Initial monogram.
I just had a party with Monica Nickerson in West Allis, WI. She was the nicest, quickest to respond ...and most helpful women ever! She brought so many fun things to the show and was interested in what we needed. The show was perfect getting us ready for the holidays. I received the order and everything was beautiful! I’ll definitely be hosting again with Monica, she’s delightful and the products are amazing! See More
It has plenty of interior and exterior pockets to organize all our stuff (even for all 3 kids). It has shoulder straps and a removable cross-body strap, it has clips to attach it so a stroller, it zips closed (and has a couple zippered outside pockets), it’s big enough but not TOO big, and it’s super cute! In fact, most people don’t even realize it’s a diaper bag until they see the sippy cups popping out! https://i.pinimg.com/originals/6b/ba/99/6bba99157d08f1def0841f035a43c709.jpg
1) I'm letting go of guilt because...I shouldn't feel guilty about sharing the connection with my baby. It's true that now I'm no longer the only one who can feed and comfort her any time of day or night. But what that really means is that now the door is open for other people who love her (my partner, grandparents, older siblings) to take part in this incredible gift. The first time I watched my husband's eyes light up as he fed our baby, I knew that I had made the right choice. https://i.pinimg.com/236x/9b/f1/9c/9bf19c5865c16aca480b650a26c9d767.jpg
We spent 14 hours researching online and off to first create a list of about 40 finalists, culled from the designer bags, cheap knock-offs, and dozens of other bags available. We then combed through hundreds of user reviews on Amazon, Babies“R”Us, Zappos, BuyBuy Baby, and Target, and read dozens more reviews by baby-gear experts and parent bloggers. We spoke in person with four local baby retailers and consignment stores about what their customers want, which brands they carry, and why.1
Comfortable to carry. We looked for padded straps, good balance, and a low weight. We took a skeptical eye toward bags that, when empty, weigh more than 2 pounds (we did make a few exceptions). Comfort is subjective, and we wanted to find options for people who find backpacks or messenger bags more comfortable than shoulder bags. Bonus points for bags that could be carried in multiple ways. https://i.pinimg.com/236x/da/5f/f7/da5ff7c950c8294ff812bf8282dea98b.jpg
This bag is designed to be worn as a backpack: It has ergonomically padded shoulder straps and a padded back panel with breathable mesh. Pack it full and your guy (or you) will still be comfortable. It also includes adjustable stroller straps and comes with a changing pad and a sundry bag. Gear-happy guys will love the 14 pockets that this bag boasts, so all of baby’s creams, pacis, and toys can stay organized and in place. There’s even a dedicated wipes pocket for easy access and an insulated bottle pocket. https://i.pinimg.com/236x/b1/cb/c2/b1cbc2d0eac0d66f2c65713ed49833ac--swiss-dot-trick-or-treat.jpg
I bought the first one to use with my grandson. Since then I have bought another one for me to use on holiday. I’m 60 yrs old & just love this bag. I can have my water bottles in the outside pockets, my medication goes in a pod, my purse in the outer zip pocket & I take it on board with my iPad, books & change of clothes. I always get asked where I got it, I live in the UK & think Skip Hop are missing a trick my not selling this bag for holidays as well as babies. I would love a new colour please.
Also, pick a bag that will last you both in durability and style. If the bag only looks good with certain outfits, you'll find yourself frustrated or wanting to buy multiple bags. A black or red bag, or one with relatively neutral colors/patterns can work with nearly any outfit. Of course, some of the really stylish baby diaper bags can also get really expensive; so maybe dig into some of those gift cards you might have hanging around from your baby registry, or put your favorite on a new baby registry (see our best baby registries here) if you haven't had your baby yet! Finally, it's worth considering a diaper bag that is water resistant, to protect the bag's contents from damage during rain or accidentally being set on a wet surface. The Halova Diaper Bag Multifunction Waterproof Travel Backpack is a great example. https://i.pinimg.com/236x/9f/00/4a/9f004aea3f27021da5813e66f6f0e8c3.jpg
Like a superhero, the B.F.F. bag transforms from an over-the-shoulder tote to a messenger bag to a backpack in an instant. It can take a beating too—its Teflon-coated material repels dirt and stains and is machine washable. And, parents swoon over the insulated bottle storage and memory-foam shoulder straps. But for those who need a ton of space for cloth diapers, twins or pumping equipment, this bag could run small. https://i.pinimg.com/originals/ff/97/c1/ff97c152144dcfd379b76dd88a96545f.jpg

Diaper bags are specifically designed to schlep all the things you need for your baby or toddler. Chances are, your little angel will surprise you with the biggest, smelliest, most disgusting blowout when you are miles away from home. Diaper bags generally come equipped with a changing pad, and have room to hold diapers, wipes, hand sanitizer and creams, a change of clothing or two, snacks, and a smartphone and a wallet, often in a series of pockets designed with specific items in mind. Some also have external, sometimes insulated, pockets for milk and/or water bottles, and designated straps to hook the bag onto your stroller. (Note: Though the JPMA and Consumer Reports advise against hanging a bag on a stroller because of the tip risk, most diaper bag makers—and parents—ignore this warning). https://i.pinimg.com/236x/99/9f/e6/999fe6d9d5db52eff522b4daa6e4f995--lularoe-party--party.jpg
We’re not the first to give the Skip Hop Duo high marks: Baby Bargains selected it as the best diaper bag of 2017, BabyList called it one of its best picks of 2017, and Meg Collins of Lucie’s List named it among her favorites. It is among the most popular diaper bags on Amazon, averaging just over 4.5 stars (out of five) across more than 1,000 reviews as of summer 2017. Although few would mistake it for some of the $200-and-up diaper bag options out there, its style is sophisticated for what it is. One Wirecutter staffer seeing it for the first time said it looked most similar to our upgrade pick, “with fewer bells and whistles”—a strong endorsement considering she didn’t yet know that this cost about a third of the price of the other bag.
Thirty One is already the go-to source for durable and stylish totes, backpacks, purses, home decor and now baby––and all with the ability to be personalized. The new baby line isn’t just for families with infants. Sure, there are some seriously adorable diaper bags, bottle thermals, baby caddies and even whimsical pillow designs for the nursery. But it’s also for those of us with big kids too! https://i.pinimg.com/236x/55/7c/5b/557c5ba4fc647c17a7f542ef4f7cd890---gifts-thirty-one-gifts.jpg?b
Does anyone else plan on using or have used a thirty one bag as their diaper bag? If so which one and how has it worked out for you? I absolutely love the idea of being able to personalize my diaper bag with the name and colors! But I'm not sure exactly what size I'll need to buy or which would be a better bag. I have a few ideas in mind though, i'm deciding between the utility tote, cindy tote or the retro metro bag. they're all too adorable and so many ways to personalize which is the best part about them! Such a tough decision, so many options Also what is the most important thing you're looking for in a diaper bag?
I have to start out this post with a confession…I am addicted to bags. I really am–I love bags and I love getting new bags. My addiction has paid off because I think I have found you all the ultimate diaper bag! I have been a fan of the company since I first heard of them because they sell my favorite thing—bags! They offer all different styles and sizes of bags, and I was lucky enough to work with them to review one of their hostess exclusive items the Suite Success Tote in Big Dot. (A hostess exclusive item is an item that only a hostess of a Thirty-One party can purchase. This item is not available to for regular purchase.)
Hoskins also believes that having to get in and out of bed to get to your baby in the night is good for moms who might be otherwise reluctant to move while recovering from C-sections. If you don't move, the risk of blood clots in the legs increases. "An advantage of being forced to get up for the baby is that it forces the mother to move her legs — it's a big plus. However painful it can be, it's important for new moms to move rather than remaining in their hospital beds."
This is an enormous and stylish black vegan leather diaper bag with every pocket, compartment, and nook and cranny you need to make for a perfect journey with your baby! In our testing, this designer baby diaper bag received the most attention from other moms - every time we used it we got comments about how nice it is and questions about where we found it. And we were not surprised given just how nice this bag is. It is designed as a large tote, coming in at about 19" wide, 13" high, and 7" deep, meaning that it has nearly a full cubic foot of space inside, which is really cavernous! And it's not just inside space that makes this diaper bag amazing, it's also the two zippered outside pockets and the five additional outside pouches that are perfect for quick access to baby wipes, bottles, pacifiers, and the included changing pad (using the large back outside pocket). There is an amazing lined pocket on the front that can be used for anything wet - like a wet bathing suit or clothing, while keeping the rest of the bag and its contents dry. It also has two insulated pockets on the inside that are perfect for keeping a bottle or snack chilled during a trip, and a ton of additional space that is perfect for holding a nursing cover, blanket, change of clothes, and more. The changing pad comes with a little travel pouch that's the right size for a diaper and wipes when you want something to quickly bring with you to the changing table. It also includes a shoulder strap that you can use to carry it across your chest, and it also includes stroller straps to help you attach it to your stroller (but be careful with that!). We loved nearly everything about this black faux leather diaper bag, and thought it was an amazing addition to this year's diaper bag buying guide. The Honest Company also makes a backpack version of this bag, called the Honest Company City Backpack Diaper Bag, for about the same price, that is worth checking out if you prefer that style. Downfalls? Well if we're being really picky, the zippers were finicky sometimes, and the tote straps were a good size for holding with your hand or forearm but not quite big enough to put on your shoulder. But those are relatively minor points that are about our subjective experience. But one big challenge with this bag is the price, coming in at around $150 or so which seems expensive for a faux leather diaper bag. If you love the styling but want to save some cash, check out the Skip Hop Chelsea Downtown Chic Diaper Bag that has a very similar look and functionality but is a little bit smaller and only about half the price. Interested? You can check out the Honest Company Everything Tote diaper bag here.
Reasonably priced and widely available. You can find diaper bags for as little as $15 and as much as $1,500. We opted for a middle ground, and set a maximum price of $200. We focused on popular bags commonly found at major retailers such as Babies“R”Us, BuyBuy Baby, Target, and Amazon. We didn’t find much for $25 and under. “Don’t get taken by a cheap one, because it’s going to fall apart and you’ll need to buy something else,” Meg Collins, founder of Lucie’s List, told us. https://i.pinimg.com/345x/de/50/11/de50112c151522e3c6fe2f24bbe60472.jpg
